Muyiwa Olasehinde

Dental Surgeon

I am Dr Muyiwa Olasehinde, born July 22 a few years ago, and I am the lucky man who will be taking Gbotemi as wife on the 4th August, 2018. A few people call me P.Muyee, others call me DrMuyee while Gbotemi sometimes calls me Ayokunlemi (which I’ve been telling her to stop).

From 8am till 4pm every day, I focus on my job as a dentist by alleviating the pain of my patients and putting beautiful smiles on their faces. Outside of these working hours, I spend some time mentoring the younger generation, doing some business consulting for a few acquaintances, being a dependable friend and teaching the youth Sunday School class at my local church.

At my less serious moments, you would either find me playing with one of my electronic devices or speaking big English all over the place. At all times however, you would find me either being a lover to Gbotemi, son to Mr. and Mrs. O, brother to BantuMan, Uncle to these unbelievably great kids, mentor to some great guys and ladies, Best friends with more than 5 people and still counting.

“May I have the privilege of having your majesty in a relationship with me?”

The above were the words I sent on WhatsApp Messenger to Oluwagbotemi that fateful day in March 2015.

Gbotemi Fadiora

Production Assistant

I answer Oluwagbotemi Fadiora. And I joined the life league on the 5th of April.

I'm a baker @EmGee Confectionery and double as a production assistant in a notable radio station.

When I'm not busy with work at the station, I'll most likely be found working on a cake or frying our EmGee crunchies and making it ready for delivery.

However, a constant role I play every day is being an all-time sweetheart to Muyiwa, a daughter to Mr and Mrs Fadiora and sister to Mrs Adekeye, Mrs Oni and Marvelous.

Olasehinde Oluwamuyiwa Ayokunlemi…mmmmm.... It didn't start with me calling him that, especially the later part.... Smiles.... Rather, in the first scene of the movie you're about to watch, it began with me seeing him as the General Secretary of the fellowship, who looked good almost every time, a dental student who chewed gum stylishly without you knowing except if painstakingly observed and a good speaker of English.

All these played out when I was in 100 level, 2011.

  • Muyiwa's Story

    Jan/Feb 2014
    coupledateimage

Flashback to early 2014 (January/February). I was at my campus church (Gospel Students’ Fellowship, OAU) worshipping on a Sunday morning and got a witness on my heart that the young lady who led the worship session that day was going to be my wife.

Being that I was not particularly looking to get into a relationship at the time, I waived it off and carried on with my life. A few months after that, I became the President/Pastor of the fellowship and this young lady was also appointed the Assistant General Secretary of the fellowship/Alumni Relations Chairperson.

As the convictions got stronger, I shared the burden with a mutual acquaintance of ours, Banji Odurombi, a very dear friend. He reinforced my convictions and further gave me guidance.

  • Gbotemi's Story

    Final Year
    coupledateimage

Fast forward to 2014 during my final year, our fellowship's "choice" (induction of new executives) appointed me to the office of the Assistant General Secretary and Alumni Relations Chairperson of the fellowship. The nature of my job required that I report to the pastor, who happened to be Muyiwa.

Those times were not memorable at all because he was unnecessarily strict and sometimes rejected my reports, asking for a well detailed one. The peak of it was when he openly corrected a grammatical mistake I made. And I hated him for it!

Gradually, he let down his guard, towards the end of the tenure, which to me was surprising.

Meanwhile, I became close to a Masters student who is an alumnus of the fellowship, friend to Pastor Muyiwa and my senior colleague, Banji Odurombi. I fondly call him "Oga Banji". He was of great help in analyzing my final year project and helping to sort out my department challenges. At a point, however, I intentionally withdrew myself from him when I thought he had some underground motives. I couldn't lay my hands on exactly what it was. I later discovered Oga Banji was trying to mentor me for his friend. lolzz

  • Strictly Business!

    Late 2014
    coupledateimage

The fellowship’s alumni reunion scheduled for late 2014 further reduced the “distance” between us as she had a direct reportage to my office. This however brought some dislike as my decision to keep the relationship strictly business was interpreted on her part as cold-heartedness.

  • "You are that lady!"

    March 2015
    coupledateimage

Fast forward to sometimes in March 2015 when I was chatting with my "pastor", he asked how to go about proposing to a particular lady who he was beginning to like and love. And of course, the innocent me reeled out how to go about it. Then he said "You are that lady", you need to see the confusion all over me. I wasn't expecting it; I mean this is Pastor Muyiwa! And at this point, he had been carried and inducted as the University Joint Campus Mission (UJCM) President, and I felt "Oga, even if you couldn't pick a lady from our fellowship other than me, at least UJCM is there to pick from” because UJCM covers a congregation of over 5,000 people ...Then I told him to do it the right way – physically - and he did a few days later.

A month later, on my birthday, I gave him my response to his request.

And of a surety I can say loving this man is not a mistake. And to stop doing that, I can't give you an assurance...

  • We got engaged

    05 April, 2015
    coupledateimage

January 2015 saw us becoming a little closer as friends. We had our first date on January 30th 2015. On March 3rd, 2015, I asked her out on WhatsApp with the words below, and asked her out a few days later face to face.

“May I have the privilege of having your majesty in a relationship with me?”

    Or better still...

“I want to officially ask you out on a journey of romantic proportions that has the potential of eternal ramifications for the parties involved.”

She gave me a response on 5th April, 2015 which happened to be her birthday and the day this relationship was birthed.
